LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

There has long been a historic bond between the Irish people and the Indigenous peoples of the Americas. As fellow colonized peoples who continue to live under British occupation in its 417th year and the 105th year of ongoing partition, we feel an ethical and moral obligation to acknowledge our current participation in stolen land.

Therefore, we wish to acknowledge that we are gathered on the unceded, ancestral homelands of the Munsee Lenape peoples, which settlers call New York City. We pay our respects to the Lenape peoples—past, present, and future—and honor their continued presence in their homeland and throughout the Lenape diaspora. We recognize the painful history of genocide, forced dispossession, and colonization, and we express gratitude and reverence to the original caretakers of these lands and waters.
