1st Irish Festival 2019

“GREAT THEATER CAN STIR THE IMAGINATION,
carrying us away to places we’ve never seen and lives we’ve never lived…
THANK YOU FOR DREAMING UP THIS WONDERFUL CELEBRATION
and working hard to make it a reality.“
– President Bill Clinton on Origin’s 1st Irish Festival

The 2019 Origin 1st Irish Festival celebrates its eleventh anniversary January 9 – 28 as New York’s only month-long theatre festival exclusively devoted to presenting contemporary plays from the island of Ireland.

With fifteen events in total, the Festival takes place in a number of distinguished venues across New York City representing fifteen contemporary Irish writers and six mainstage productions originating from Belfast, Derry, Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Queens and Manhattan.

Herald by The New York Times as “an important event that offers New York theatergoers the chance to see fascinating new work,” explore what the Origin 1st Irish Festival has to offer.
